Day 18 of this thankful month. I am thankful for my First Admendment Rights...the Right of FREE SPEECH!!! I can say what I want, when I want, and although I will have people judge me, I can do it because I have right to do so. However, we know that this isn't true in this world, every word you say "can be held against you in a court of law". Do people speak their minds knowing that they could get sued? I know from being a twitter fiend myself alot of celebrities I follow say whatever they want, how they want, and squash rumors as soon as they get published. I know their publicists have a hard time, but my question is now Has the constitution or our first admendment rights caught up to technology? I read an article the other day on cnn.com stating that a well known celebrity Courtney Love is being sued for something she posted on twitter. My arguement would be it is her first admendent right to do whatever the H*LL she wanted why should it matter? But, I guess it does. Goes to show you even though we have right to do something doesn't mean we always have to go crazy at the mouth or in this case tweet.
"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."
But, this is another blog topic, I will post or rant about in the future.
