Wow this year has flown by...where did the time go? I started this year off with the theme "Getting fine in '09". January 1, 2009 started watching the ball drop in frigid temperatures in Times Square NYC. Now when I look back on 2009 I should have welcomed the new year in church but we won't go there. I accomplished so many things in 2009. One major milestone was graduating from college with my BS in Chemical and Life Science Engineering. Thank you Lawd is what I graduated with and I'm so grateful for the trials and tribulations that I went through to accomplish that goal. I accepted a job in Texas and moved in June 2009. That in itself was a test of faith because I didn't know anyone in Texas. I have learned so much about myself and leaning on Christ to be my rock and foundation. I am alone in Texas but definitely not lonely. Another major milestone was starting to work full time. I have grown to appreciate my skills as an engineer and how they apply to my current job. My hope and prayer is that I continue to build sound relationships with my co workers. That they get to know the real me and that I'm comfortable enough to reveal my opinions and views without the fear of being disliked. In 2009, I also removed some people from my life. Its hard to let some things go especially when your heart was so heavy and ended up broken. But in spite of that situation I've learned that what God has for you is for you and he will reveal it to you in his time. I have learned to not where my emotions on my shoulder and not to take things personal. This is especially when it comes to working relationships. I used to get bent out of shape when people didn't like me. All of us want to be liked but being liked and respected is what I rather be. In this under construction phase I've learned that I need to stop trying to control everything. Only God has ultimate control and when I truly let go and let God everything will fall in place. I have also learned that God will make your enemies your foot stool so in 2010 I'm ready to receive all the blessings God has in store for me.
