Remember this tree from My Christmas List
Here it is decorated and lite in my apartment. Doesn't it look fantabulous? lol
Here is another close up picture of my tree...I say that girl is FIERCE! lol
5) The number 5 reason why I love the Holidays is because I get time off. In college I used to look forward to the up to 5 week break between semesters. Now, that I am in the working world I still have that same thrill, but my 5 week fantasy has been trimmed down to 1 week of bliss away from my coworkers, collegeaues, friends, associates, church family, etc... Something we all should look forward to in my opinion.
4) The number 4 reason why I love the Holidays is because I get to do something that I love and that is to SHOP! Although I am not shopping for myself, shopping for others is just much more fun. Especially if you don't know if the person will like what you purchase. Seeing the reaction on Christmas day as they open the gift and they end up absolutely loving it is priceless. Don't get me wrong during the Holidays I like to treat myself as I do the other 364 days of the year. But, shopping for others especially the ones you love is PRICELESS.
3) The number 3 reason why I love the Holidays is because you get to see people in their true character and form good or bad. Some people around you may get extra nice and jolly. While others lets say Christmas season brings out the worst in them. Last weekend while shopping for gifts, I was waiting with a friend who was checking out at Forever 21 and their computers froze so we couldn't check out. We were in mid transaction when this happened so we couldn't just write a check and bounce. We had to stay and wait until the computers came back up. So, while waiting the almost 30 minutes they started to check out using cash. Most of the people in line were tired of waiting so they jumped in the cash line. One lady proceeded to cut the line and hopped in front of another customer. The other customer went off on her. Let's say it wasn't pretty and they almost got into a fight. LOL That's what I call the worst of people's character. I don't think its that serious but the principle stands don't cut the line. But, it is what it is you get to see people for really who they are.
2) I love the Holidays because I get to see the people I love the most. Being in Texas alone has definitely gave me a new appreciation for home and my family. But, I wouldn't have it any other way. I have grown so much in the last 6 months its ridiculous how much I have learned to lean on God for help. Aside from putting Christ first I have learned that family comes after that then work in that exact order of priority. I'm so excitied to head back to Virginia for the Holidays to see family and friends that I love and who love me back. Its always good being around people who know your true character and won't judge you. Right?
1) My number 1 reason I love the Holidays is that I'm always reminded who is priority in my life, Christ! During the Christmas season we celebrate Christ's birth in Bethleham, and are reminded of God's love for the world by giving us Jesus to relieve us from sin. After Christmas we then go into the New Year making resolutions that we almost never keep. I say this year we go into the new year with only one thing we want to do, and that is making Christ priority. We should make a resolution to not want to break God's heart in 2010. I can make that pledge as I want to continue to develop a personal relationship with him. Making God priority truly in your life will open so many doors in 2010 and I can't wait to walk through them.
What do you love about the Holidays? Are you in the Christmas mood?
Keep the Faith,
Until next time,
~E
