Transformation Thursday: State of the Union 01/27/10

A year and seven days ago we watched waited and witnessed the first African American or bi racial man get elected to the highest office in the United States as President. Barack Obama promised us change we can believe in. Coming off of an eight year run of war economic downfall and declining job market we were ready for change. Sure not much has changed in a years time but one thing can be said is that Americans still have hope. I witnessed this hope last night as President Obama eloquently delivered his first State of the Union address of the year 2010. I rarely blog about politics but I do value education and informing the masses of the truth. Obama made several points on education creating more jobs and stimulating the green economy. This made me hopeful because as newly employeed engineer it means I have job security and the future generation of engineers will have substantial jobs. He also discussed students loans. "Nobody should go broke because they chose to go to college" President Obama Let the church say Amen Let the church say Amen again....If that aint hopeful I don't know what is lol To my point many twenty somethings like me don't want to have to payback student loans until they are in their sixty somethings. We want our taxes to decrease on those loan payments. POTUS and FLOTUS just recently paid off their student loan debt from one of his book sales and their in the late fourty somethings. He also said that "Just saying no to everything maybe good short term politics but it is not leadership." This speaks volumes to his character and how he wants to lead our nation. While watching the SOTU I was also on twitter as well as facebook. I was happy and my heart was smiling at all of my tweeps and fb family commenting and watching the SOTU address. Sometimes we forget that we are all in the same fight together and last night Obama reminded us that change wasn't going to take place overnight and it required us to help change. I am more hopeful more appreciative and more grateful that we have POTUS that is seeking Gods heart.
