9 months @ Big Oil

Today marks 9 months I have offically been working in Corporate America for Big Oil.  Everytime I think about my time here it gives me chills and I thank God for his continuous grace and mercy. 

Here is my list of 9 things I love about my job, living in Texas, and being on my own.

1. Everything in Texas is big....yes it is!!! Houses, Churches, and People..OH MY! 
2. I get off of work at 4pm EVERDAY! I'm somewhat spoiled on my job compared to other engineers, but it doesn't mean I don't work anyless or as hard.  I just have a great department and don't have to stay past 5pm.
3. Being on my own has taught me so much about myself. There isn't one person I'd rather spend time with than God and me. LOL So true!
4. I love Antioch Missionary Baptist Church and singing with the Voices of Antioch http://www.antiochbmt.org/
5. Texas living is cheap, and I can't wait to wear the homeowner's hat one day.
6.  Working for Big Oil has its perks, i.e. discounted gas.
7. The food is amazing...Cajun, Barbecue, Fried, Tex Mex...I love it all..and probably why I've gained and lossed 10 pounds since living here :/
8. Being close to a big city like Houston has its perks.  I've seen Maxwell, Dru Hill, KCi and JoJo, Ginuwine, Htown, Chrisette Michele, Common, Chris Brown, just to name a few.  Up next is Chrisette Michele, Lupe Fiasco, Jagged Edge, Tank, Avant, Joe, Angie Stone, Maxwell, and Jill Scott...my summer is looking GREAT!!!
9. I've been blessed to met some great people and develop some great friendships/relationships and I'm excited to see where they develop and what the future holds.
