Share Erica's World: Mixing Monday: Natural Hair Rules 4th Year Celebration Recap!

I had such a great weekend. It started off on Friday night attending Natural Hair Rules creator Tamara Floyd 4th Nappiversary soiree at Cafe 4212 in Houston, Texas. When I walked in I was greeted warmly by the hosts as I signed up and left a donation for the free event. I then made my way to the vendors selling everything from homemade natural hair products, t-shirts, earrings, to handcrafted handbags. I was in natural hair heaven. Not to mention the buzz in the room. Everyone was fierce, fabulous, and unique in rocking their natural styles. Just reminded me of how black girls rock! I was so proud to be apart of a movement I couldn't stop smiling :D I was able to network and exchange cards. I then looked around for the hostess and she was working the room as I thought she would. Mrs. Floyd gave a speech thanking the fans and friends for making Natural Hair Rules the #1 beauty blog in Texas. She told us to continue to support her as well as one another as the site is a 24/7 work of labor. As we were wrapping up I knew I needed to introduce myself to her before I left. I was greeted with the most sincere hug and thank you. Mrs. Floyd was very humbling and you can tell that she is ready to keep shining her light upon the world. I wish her much success with Natural Hair Rules and hope we meet up again sooner than later.
