Good hair vs. Bad hair?

So, I know the natural community was going crazy over this Tyra Banks show on What is Good hair? Today was my first time watching it on youtube and there is so much to be said on black woman's ignorance to natural hair care. I will let you watch and make your own opinion of what is good hair and what is bad hair. But, in my opinion Good hair = Healthy Hair...if you fry, dye, blow dry, chemically relax, straighten, or texturize your hair and if your hair is healthy and you moisturize and maintain it then Good hair = healthy hair.

However, if you chemically relax and or straighten your natural hair and you have breakage or your hair is balding in some places. THEN you need to do something different and consider going natural. Having natural hair doesn't mean that you will have healthy hair. You have to consistently work at maintaining your hair when you beginning to go natural. You are not conforming when you go NATURAL!!! You are embracing what God blessed you with at birth. I believe going natural or being natural is empowering...sometimes you have to DARE TO BE DIFFERENT!!! Being natural is so versatile you can do so many things with your hair. I am happy to be nappy and I wouldn't have it any other way! Embrace your beauty in all forms and don't let society tell you different if you are making the choice to go natural. Yes, you may have to straighten your hair from time to time to get on that interview to land that job. But, after you get that job hold your head up high wearing your natural curls.

Keep the Faith!

Until next time,

  1. "Good hair = Healthy Hair" Yes, I so agree! If we could only get more folks to understand that simple equation . . . (-:

    Love your positive energy.
