Lost Files: Letter to my Unborn Son

This post was in my drafts and I never posted it for whatever reason, but I thought I share the joy I felt at the time we found out we were having a boy. This was written in July 2012.

I'm going to be a mom to a sweet baby boy we will name Brandon Oscar McAfee Jr. This is a title I thought would happen years from now and you would be planned. But God always has a bigger plan, and you are such a special gift from God. Words can't express how much we love you already. You are our little prince!
It's a BOY!

Being 19 weeks on the brink of 5 months I feel your move and every kick. I'm halfway there and can't wait to meet you. All of my plans revolve around you now.
What I want to do in my career, do I want to continue working shifts switching from days to nights? I want to see you grow up and not spend all my time at work. I want to teach you and guide you the way my parents did for me. It makes me reevaluate my priorities in life like chasing or climbing the corporate ladder. I'm already so blessed to be your mom.

Our next big decision is when do we purchase a bigger car to fit your stroller and car sit and we want to purchase a home for you to grow up in? All of this is to make sure you have the best life we can provide and come into this world feeling the love from your mom and dad.

I sit and ponder the way you look and how your personality will be whose temperament you will take after. I know that God will make you unique and in his imagine. I think you will look just like your dad very handsome and very hairy. Lol Old wives tales say when you have heartburn you will birth a baby full of hair and I know that will be you.

Why Brandon Oscar?
Well Brandon means strong, firm, steadfast and strength. Oscar means divine spear and determined, and is also your fathers middle name and paternal grandfathers middle name.
We had names for you picked out before we knew you were a boy. Oscar Lee, Braxton Lee, and Braylon Oscar just to name a few. But we wanted to make sure your name meant something powerful because it will be with you forever (well we hope you don't change it).

You are strong, firm, divine, determined, steadfast, and your strength will come from God. Phillipians 4:13 I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

We can't wait to meet you in a few months and kiss your cheeks!

Love you,
Mommy

Keep the Faith!

Until next time,
~E
